An outside wall made of recycled doors at a Kentville daycare could open to any imagined world the children choose to create. The owner and staff at Little Pumpkins Daycare are looking for people to donate solid wooden doors for a project that involves building a fence with repurposed materials.

Hodder was originally charged with break, enter and theft from a transport trailer at the Frito Lay factory in New Minas but pleaded guilty to the lesser, included offence of trespassing at night and the other two charges on Dec. 20, 2016.

A New Minas man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to distributing intimate images of a woman without her consent. Bronson Raven Jade Toney-Spencer, 22, pleading guilty to the charge, which involved nude images, on June 20. The matter was adjourned to Oct. 10 to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and for sentencing.

Child luring, exploitation case to resume in January

A man charged with internet luring and child exploitation made a brief appearance in Kentville provincial court on Monday morning. Aaron Byron Cumberland, 27, was arraigned on three counts of luring a child, one of inviting a child to touch him sexually, and one of making sexually explicit material available to a child.

Ex-volunteer firefighter gets jail time in Kentville

A 21-year-old former volunteer firefighter who stole cash and an Apple iPad from his department has been sentenced to 45 days in jail to be served on weekends. Crown attorney Jim Fyfe said Fleet was a probationary member of the New Minas Volunteer Fire Department in February of this year.
